Rarely has a designer made my jaw hit the floor with a thud, as I sit in several menswear collections a year. For something to win the jaw dropping title from me it has to combine three elements impeccably: forwarding menswear, wearability and risk. Although I could not attend Elliott Evan’s show during New York’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, I wish had. This stunning combination of avant-garde meets functionality is exactly what I want to bring our global audience. Like last season with Montreal’s Travis Taddeo spring/summer 13 collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week, we could not wait to run and buy every piece. Once again that panic, which great style causes, is alive again in this collection. I’ve lovingly branded it Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome invades New York, but all kidding aside, I want every piece. It is with pleasure, as fashion director at The Edito, to bring you the collection right off the runway. Though it may not be for every guy, I’m sure you’ll agree, on the right man it will incredible. Well done Elliott Evan, very well done.
